TDS Customer reviews
I'm pretty harsh when I comes to reviewing gun stores, do to the fact that they don't believe in customer service, talk down instead of talking to you! And this makes me to believe that there only working here for that employee discount. With TDS is the complete opposite, there staff are the most helpful staff that I ever experienced when it comes to gun and ammo shops. Don't mistaken bad service with the shop always being extremely busy, that's why I can't give them 5 rating! What do I know but they can make things more efficient by simply taking numbers. Other then that I would not hesitate and give them my business!

I bought one of my first rifles from this shop and it was a great experience , I felt no pressure from don that helped me and he was very informative and suggested many features and explained what the advantage of each part could offer and worked with budget i'd brought to spend . it opened my eyes to a new passion. I didn't feel sized up when walking in nor rushed or ignored . even though everyone is strapped I feel completely comfortable and treated with respect also the gun building class was a great experience very helpful and fun ..... only thing I wish they had was more parts or accessories for 1911's and a larger selection of accessories for ar's .
Thanks Sean J From Sac 4/15/2011 We will get some more parts.

Craig,
When I first came in to the store I had told you that I never had owned a rifle like an AR 15 and that my wife and I wanted to build a couple of them. You seemed very busy but you spent the better part of an hour or more with me, educating me about all the different configurations of what we could build and all that time you never took your attention away from me or my many questions. I must say that I went away with my head swimming but went home and thought about all that you had said and did some major home work. When I came back to the store the following week with my wife you were in So Cal so Alex helped us. Alex went above and beyond to make my wife and me at ease and comfortable with what we were getting, he is an asset to your company. He followed up with phone calls to make sure all was on track with our purchase. We signed up for your AR build class for Jan 9th and attended it. Our time there was great from start to finish, all the guys were great. Brian was the guy that pretty much took care of all of our needs to build the AR's, he was a star employee and represented your company well. I have made many trips in there between the first time I spoke with you and when we did our class today and have been impressed every time. I will always talk highly of your store and the people that work hard at it. To sum it all up you guys are top notch and we will continue to be dedicated customers.
Thanks, Lou & Terri
GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE WORKING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Gunman 10/162010

All in all, I like these guys & will likely continue to support them with more $ -- once the wifey allows me to purchase more.
After reading the comments here, and upon a recommendation from a friend, I bought an AR from TDS Guns. Can't remember the name of the cat that helped me out, but he was very cool, and answered my questions. He also helped me select the components for my build and worked with me to keep me in my budget. I pick it up on Friday. Looking forward to it, and would definetly recommend them to anyone looking for a gun in the Sacto area.

First let me say, I HATE gun stores. There is almost always some anti-social know it all jerk who doesn't have the first clue about the products he is selling or what is legal and what is not yet insists on arguing with you about it and giving you attitude store clerk or owner behind the counter just waiting to ruin your day.
Not so with TDS Guns in Rocklin, California. Every single one of their employees was friendly, knowledgable, and not affraid to say "I don't know but I'll find out." For the first time in a long time I felt comfortable and relaxed in a gun store. They put the customer first, and are never too busy to help you find what you are looking for.
They have a HUGE and I do mean HUGE selection of guns, parts and accessories (yes I realize I am plugging the comptetion on those last two) for every price range, budget and taste.
Everything about TDS Guns is impressive. Check them out next time you are in the market for a firearms.

Hey Ken, Thanks for the E-mail!
Yes, I would like to check out the new Crossbreed, I will be in tomorrow after work (hopefully it is still there). Hold off on the Galco for now, I was in a couple of weeks ago and picked up a smaller Galco inside the waistband holster. I am not sure how the plastic clip will hold up as it is already a little deformed. However, it is easy to draw my XD and I like that.
I will continue to use TDS for all of my personal safety needs. Your guys' customer service is THE BEST I have ever encountered.
I stopped in and was helped by Ben the Gunsmith yesterday, like all of your guys, he definitely knows what he is doing. I owe him one.
Thanks again,
M.Reece 7/13/10
This shop is the way a gun store should be run! The staff was very polite and professional. The store is laid out real good. The selection is great. The owners of TDS should be proud of their staff. I will recommend them to anyone!

The other reviews prompted me visit TDS guns this last weekend with my wife. The store is pretty awesome. The walls are lined with long rifles, shotguns and CA legal assault rifles of all kinds. They have lots and lots of handguns to choose from and get pretty much anything you want as long as it is CA legal.
Even though the store was pretty busy they have plenty of staff on hand to help out. My wife and I walked around and looked into the cases for about 5 minutes before we were approached by Jace (sorry if I spelled name wrong).
Jace was very helpful and he put up with all my ridiculous newbie questions. I asked for his personal preference and he told me but he also backed it up with why he felt the way he did. He also pointed out that several other of his co-workers would probably disagree with what gun was best. It's all personal preference. Jace pulled a few guns out of the case for my wife and I to hold and later on I got to hold my first assault rifle. Pretty cool!!!
The prices seemed very reasonable to me. They can special order certain guns and they offered to price match any competitor price. I'm not sure if that was a one-time thing or if that is standard.
In the end, it was a pretty cool visit and I would highly recommend this place for a first stop if you are shopping for firearms.

Damn friendly gun guys.. Aren't arms dealers supposed to be big scary tough guys? Well these guys are just as tough I bet.. But super friendly..
This is the first time I ever came here. I guess it's brand new.. It was a gun owner's dream come true.. So many guns and rifles.. The gentlemen that helped me with the stuff I needed were way too helpful.. I'm definitely buying my next gun over here

Defiantly a friendly gun store. These guys are super friendly and willing to help with any questions you may have. Prices on ammo are great, you can't beat this place, quality at a reasonable price, why go anywhere else.?

I just went there today for the first time and I was impressed to say the least. A LOT of handguns and a lot of rifles hanging on the wall. Very clean, bright, friendly.
I only bought a box of 9mm (PMC Bronze) for $12.95, but I hope to someday get one or two lowers from them.
They're right of 80/Rocklin Rd too (they are no longer in Loomis).
They were busy. Had a lot of stock and were friendly. It is nice to have a cool gun shop nearby.

Just want to say that I had an extremely good experience at TDS Guns in Rocklin today. I'm new to the area and this was my first time in the shop. I have to say that their setup is very nice. The shop is a decent size, but you don't need to spend hours in it to see everything (though you'll probably be there that long if you're just browsing). The shop was clean, organized, and had a large selection of items for all your shooting needs.
The shop was a little busy when I went in, and at first, I was a little taken back that no one had offered to help even though I was standing at one of the counters. I looked around and every employee I could see was busy with customers, and there were a few like me waiting to be helped. Once I was helped, I understood why no one had asked me if I needed help before. They give their customers their undivided attention! If someone is helping you, that's the only person they are helping. No one else is going to come steal your help away
unless you tell the guy you don't need any more help. (I should note that it didn't take long before someone was freed up to help me, maybe 5 min max)
Every single question I had was answered to the best of their ability, and if the guy didn't know, he didn't BS. He said he didn't know but he could go try to find out. Opinions were given, but only as opinions, not as facts or as definite answers. I had a few different guys help me throughout my visit, and each of them was exactly the same. Undivided attention, a friendly attitude, and a respect for their customer. I asked a few other customers in the shop if this was normal and they said "absolutely". It was probably one of the best experiences I've had in a gun shop so far. Prices are good, guns are plentiful, and the staff is a lot easier to deal with than at most FFL's. I will definitely be going back to TDS Guns in the future, and I suggest that if you're in the N. Sac area, you do the same.
Thanks again TDS, keep up the good work

+1 to TDS. My girlfriend and I went it just browsing one day and she said she liked the pink TDS shirts so they gave her one! They gave me one too in brown. TDS ROCKS! I live right down the street from the new shop, I need to go in there more.
